About Summit, the union catalog

Summit is the unified library catalog of universities and colleges in the Pacific Northwest and the Center for Research Libraries in Chicago. Through Summit you have access to over 22 million books, sound recordings, films, video tapes, and more. With a single search you can view selections from the collection and eligible patrons at member institutions can borrow materials.

Connect to Summit through any member library catalog. You can easily move between your local catalog and Summit at any time with a single keystroke, or the “return home” button.

You can search for titles, authors, and publisher numbers. Search keywords from subjects, content notes, titles, personal and corporate authors and more. Explore subject headings from the Library of Congress, and from other subject headings lists such as medical, agricultural, children's literature.

Magazines, annual reports, symposia, journals and other periodicals are available through a separate “journal” search.

Summit provides the local call number, circulation and order status of items at the home libraries. Information is always current as the Summit catalog is continuously updated from each library over the Internet.

Summit Borrowing: This rapid, self-service interlibrary loan program is available to authorized borrowers. "Request Item" may be used from library computers or from your home or office.
